Here’s your chance to get interactive with President Barack Obama before the upcoming elections.
Obama will answer questions from young voters in “Ask Obama Live: An MTV Interview With the President,” which will air live Friday, October 26 at 5 p.m. ET (tape delayed PT) across all of MTV’s screens.
The half-hour special will feature MTV News correspondents Sway Calloway, who will sit down with the president in the White House, and Andrew Jenks, who will be on the ground at a college campus in Washington, D.C., with a group of young voters. You can submit your questions for the commander in chief beginning Tuesday (October 23) by hitting up the MTV Facebook page.
“Ask Obama Live” will be broadcast on MTV, MTV2, mtvU, MTV Hits and MTV Jams, as well as online through MTV.com and MTV’s mobile platform. Before and after the interview, Jenks will host a live-stream discussion about the election through MTV.com.
It’s all part of our ongoing “Power of 12″ campaign, which aims to engage the 45 million 18 to 29-year-olds eligible to vote in this election (making them the largest potential voting bloc in the country). MTV’s “Ask Obama Live” will mark the first time in this campaign that either candidate has focused directly on those young voters’ top concerns, including jobs, the cost of college, rising student loan debt, and social issues like LGBTQ rights and immigration.
MTV has also invited Obama’s opponent, Mitt Romney, to participate in a similar live special, and hopes to conduct a sit-down interview with him in advance of Election Day on November 6.
