Lil Wayne Congratulates Tyga On Having His First Child

Tyga welcomed his first child King Cairo Stevenson this week, and Lil Wayne is thrilled to have a new member of the YMCMB fam.

“Yeah, lil Cairo, shout out to Tyga and his new little baby boy Cairo,” a grinning Wayne told MTV News in Las Vegas on Thursday (October 18).

For years, Wayne has balanced life in the spotlight and his role as a father. And while he does say he has some O.G. advice for his Young Money artist, he intends to keep those words of wisdom private for now. “If there is any advice I have for Tyga, I would give that to Tyga,” he said bluntly.

On Tuesday, the “Rack City” MC sent an Instagram of him holding his first born with the caption: “Most Amazing feeling ever #Blessed #2Kings @KingCairo.” He then followed on Wednesday with a Cinegram of his baby boy snuggled tight in his hospital blanket and wrote, “Sleepn like a King #King # Cairo.”

Last year, Lil Wayne contemplated his retirement from music so he could be a better dad. “I’m so settled in my life right now,” he told MTV News last July. “I have my kids; they’re wonderful. My daughter has her career ahead of her now. I have to focus on that, and I have to put the same focus that I put in my career. … I want to become a better father, I want to become a better man to my woman, and those things take time. And time takes away from this. So the honest answer to that [retirement] question is, I don’t know. Maybe so.”

Still no word on when Wayne will decide to hang up his mic, but it doesn’t look to be anytime soon. Next up for Birdman Jr. is his I Am Not a Human Being II LP, which is due out later this year.
